On Friday, February 7, Webster Schroeder High School had its annual Souper Bowl party for staff members. The Souper Bowl has been a yearly tradition at Schroeder for 5 years. Staff members cook and bring in one of their signature dishes for others to enjoy. The staff then anonymously vote for their favorite dish. The contestant with the most votes wins the honor of being the Souper Bowl champion and is gifted a golden spoon.
This year Schroder had over a dozen staff members enter the Souper Bowl competition. There were a handful of tasty dishes made this year, but one reigned superior. Mrs. Phillips’s chicken sausage gumbo won first place, with Ms. DeBacco and Mr. Costanza in close second and third place, respectively.
Even though there hasn’t been a Schroeder cookbook made since 2022, if you are interested in browsing recipes from prior years, click here to see the recipes from the 2022 contestants compiled by counselor Martha Henry. Hopefully another cookbook can be made, so the staff’s delicious recipes can be shared and recreated.
