On Tuesday, April 8, PTSA & Schroeder Library Media Center were thrilled to host Wadaiko Drumming (RIT) (@roctaiko) at Schroeder as a precursor event in celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Month (May). Performances were held 1st and 2nd period on Tuesday morning—the first of which filled the entirety of Schroeder’s generously-sized auditorium.
Please browse a playlist of the performances below. In preparation for and as an extension of learning about Taiko Drumming as a traditional Japanese art, Schroeder LMC provided a choice board of learning activities which is still available for browsing.
Performances like these are funded in part by cultural arts funding generated by Community Arts Day which will be held here next month at Schroeder; anyone can contribute to funding by volunteering or donating store-bought gourmet goods to be sold at the event. See Schroeder/GOAL PTSA Chair Mrs. Peters in the library for more info.
