  1. The town was named after Daniel Webster who never stepped foot in the town.
  2. Daniel Webster was a lawyer and statesman who represented New Hampshire and Massachusetts in Congress.
  3. Webster was founded in 1840 on February 6. 
  4. There were people living in the area before it became an official town.
  5. The first business was called Stage Coach Inn in 1812; the owner was named James Spear.
  6. Webster used to be part of Penfield until the two in separated in 1840.
  7. Webster was huge into the dried apple business until World War I.
  8. Before World War I, Webster had the biggest basket factory which was the center of the canning industry in Monroe County.
  9. The first school was built in 1876 and called Webster Union Free School.
  10. One of the oldest buildings still standing was built in Webster in 1840 and located at 93 West Main Street in the village.
